Why Go Virtual

The team of Brookside Family therapy

Many people are concerned that with telehealth they won’t be able to get as much from therapy as they would from seeing a therapist in person. Here is a list of benefits that you can get from virtual therapy:

  • More privacy
    • No worrying that someone will see you coming or going from the office
    • No worries about strangers overhearing your conversation: even with the “shushers” and sound machines things can slip through.
  • Easier to find if you are rural as long as you can find an internet connection
  • Scheduling can be easier with online scheduling services.
  • You don’t have to worry about child care because you can set the kids up at home.
  • Therapy can feel less scary or threatening because you are coming from the comfort of your own home or office ( sometimes car ).
  • You have the flexibility in your location.
  • You don’t have to worry about transportation or being stuck in traffic.
  • If you are depressed or anxious (or many other issues) it is easier to push a button than get to a therapy office.
  • You can still learn animal assisted therapy skills.

Since COVID there have been studies done and they have shown that virtual therapy is JUST AS EFFECTIVE as in person therapy.
